New York Fashion Week Fall 2012: Nicholas K

Nicholas K Fall 2012 Ready-to-Wear

Favorite look: photo courtesy of

The Wild Wild West meets the jungle adventures of a safari in the Nicholas K Fall 2012 collection. Just about every look was full of fringe, brimmed cowboy hats, and many different textures. Lots of subtle animal prints, furs, leathers and even turtle shells were scattered throughout the collection. There was even a fur blazer on a male model! A little excessive for me, but I value the uniqueness.

I was in love with the color scheme — lots of greys, tans, olives, and black. If I had to describe the scene where you would find these colors, it would be in a dust desert — perfect for the Western motif that permeated throughout. I was never a fan of the cowboy look, but Nicholas K made it work. I really love the collection.

The leather jacket and hooded shirt in my favorite male look is to die for.
