New York Fashion Week Fall 2012: General Idea

February 11, 2012

Brrr…you’re cold just by looking at the General Idea Fall 2012 collection. You could easily take on the arctic tundra in any of the looks.

The collection strayed away from the classic menswear style (as seen in Todd Snyder Fall 2012) and took the actual season to complete sincerity–it’s cold in the fall/winter. The collection in full of fun colors–bright greens, blues, and oranges. You can have fun while…camping in the snow.

I like that a lot of the look were color-blocked. You don’t see that happen often in menswear so I thought it made the collection stand out and feel unique. But, what really stood out the most for me were the bags. I want all the bags. There was one for every occasion. The orange, puffy-jacket inspired messenger is ready to take on a walk in a snowstorm while keeping your possessions safe. That’s a win for me!
