I spent 24 hours in Chicago for a work trip and this is what I did…
I stayed at the James Hotel. I literally walked into the room felt like I was in my own apartment. It was the same color scheme (white, grey and dark wood) and the design was exactly my taste (modern, minimal and clean). It was home away from home.
First stop was the Chicago French Market. It was filled with chocolates, macarons and crepes. But, I decided to grab a lobsta. I think I was missing the yummy seafood of PTown. It was a delicious lobsta grilled cheese which was heavy on the lobster. Legit an orgasm in my mouth.
Next stop, Vanille. They apparently had the best macarons in Chicago so I headed that way. I couldn’t stop there without a little tea. I’m obsessed with tea as much as I am with coffee. Coffee is more of my morning ritual and tea is my calm for the night.
After a quick change, I headed to Mon Ami Gabi for a quaint dinner with Chicago bloggers and Maison Jules (hence the Parisian motif throughout this post). The dinner was DELICIOUS. And yes, I actually at it. How can I resist scallops. The desserts went down well too. Yumzville to the max.
Before my flight the next day, I went site seeing. It was beyond necessary to see “The Bean” and of course grab a jumping photo. Since I’m also a pizza connoisseur I needed (not just wanted) to try a REAL Chicago deep dish pizza. I definitely enjoyed it (as I devoured all of it) but I will say that I am definitely a NYC pizza lover for life. Sorry I’m not sorry.
