Beard Maintenance

April 7, 2014

Now that I’ve had a beard for way over a year (and it’s not going anywhere), it about time I embrace a new beard maintenance routine. Here are the products I’m loving to groom and tame my facial hair:

Badrick’s | Mug Scrub

Forget the dead skin cells that can get caught within the hairy forest on your face. There’s no need to have flakes fall from face. You’re not the NYC sky and it’s not the never-ending winter. It will just scare away a potential mate. I use Badrick’s Mug Scrub 1-2 times a week to polish away the dead skin and let my face feel smooth and polished.

Mr. Natty | Bring Me Sunshine Frank’s Beard Elixir (via Birchbox)

To give your beard a fresh feeling of citrusy freedom, Mr. Natty’s beard elixir does just the thing. Keep your hair smooth and smelling super fresh with just a few drops. I use it a few times a week–usually when I’m looking to head out and get noticed.

Stubble & ‘Stache | Face Moisturizer & Beard Conditioner (via Birchbox)

Just because your beard isn’t the hair on top of your head, doesn’t mean it doesn’t need to be conditioned everyday. You want your hair to bee soft and smooth when you run your hands through it (or when someone else does so) so why not make sure your beard is that same way. Run the Stubble & ‘Stache through your coarse facial hair daily to ensure it’s perfectly smooth to the touch.

Crew | Shave Cream

Just because you have a beard, doesn’t mean you don’t need shaving cream. Not everyone is born with a perfect beard. You need to shave the imperfection away and maintain the style of beard you desire. The Crew Shave Cream is the moisturizing, manly cream you will also desire.

Schick | Hydro 5 Razor

The must have razor to take care of your shaving and trimming needs is the Schick Hydro 5. Not only does it give a precise clean shave, turn it over and you have a fully functioning trimmer to maintain the different areas of your beard. A shave shave here and a trim trim there. That’s the way to a perfectly shaped beard.

HYD for Men | Razor Shield

Razors are expensive. The easiest way to protect them is to use HYD for Men’s Razor Shield. Instead of gunk build up, dull razors and disintegration of the moisture pad, razor shield stops that from happening so a razor can last more than a month…it actually can extend to 6 months (depending on your frequency of us of course).
